Jojoba oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of Simmondisia chinensis, a plant of American origin. Jojoba oil is not actually an oil, but has the chemical composition of a wax: it does not contain triglycerides, while it is rich in wax esters, tocopherols and tocotrienols, B vitamins and minerals . The high presence of tocopherols, natural antioxidants, make this product very resistant to rancidity and oxidation.
 
The composition of jojoba oil is very similar to human sebum. By virtue of this, it is able to maintain the correct hydration of the skin, protect it from dehydration but also from external factors such as water, wind and smog. Always by virtue of this composition, Jojoba oil is rapidly absorbed and does not remain greasy on the skin. It is also perfect for the care and beauty of hair: it is applied on the lengths and ends of the hair, thus making them smoother and brighter.
 
In Ayurveda it is a rebalancing agent for PITTA skin (sensitive, irritated and acne-prone skin) and KAPHA skin (thick skin, rich in sebum, tending to be oily).
